CFA Institute Research Challenge: 2011–2012
Columbine Capital Services is happy to be participating as a research resource in the CFA Institute Research Challenge hosted by CFA Chicago for 2011–2012.
We have used our flagship quantitative research service, the Combo Model, to analyze the subject
company for this year’s Challenge: Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), along with several
of its competitors and companies in related industries.
Clicking on the link below will allow Research Challenge participants to download an Excel spreadsheet reporting the current
Combo model rankings for ZBRA and its related firms. The spreadsheet also includes rankings for each company from all of
the Combo model’s individual
input factors,
allowing a direct comparison of the companies on each of the characteristics used in Columbine Capital’s research.
The spreadsheet will be updated weekly, with the latest rankings available every Monday morning throughout the Challenge.
The Combo model, which has been published since 1986, forecasts stock alpha as far out as three years in the future using
a nonlinear algorithm that combines growth and valuation factors in a style-balanced structure. Columbine Capital’s
rankings are market-relative and range from 1 (most attractive), to 10 (least attractive).
